Fall Season Expectations at the Cook Clinic
September 17, 2020
With the approach of fall and the upcoming flu season, we would like to share with you what is going on at the Clinic. We want to make sure you take full advantage of everything the Clinic has to offer to assist in meeting your healthcare needs and goals.
Flu Shots-Available beginning October 1st
We strongly encourage everyone to get a flu shot this season. The Clinic is working with Cook Facilities to continue to offer Flu Shot Clinics this year at the different sites. Watch for additional information. For those working off-site, we will also be offering drive thru flu shots in the Clinic’s north parking lot during normal Clinic hours for your convenience and to assist in distancing.
**Please note** Clinic Flu shots are provided at no cost to you. Flu Shots not provided by the Clinic will be billed to your insurance. If the place you choose is not in the plan network you may incur a cost.
***Call ahead for instructions if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 or require testing***
We will be replacing the tent used for Covid testing with a trailer in a designated area in our north Clinic Employee Parking lot. There we will continue to provide drive up services for evaluation, treatment or testing for Covid-19.
Safety & Cleanliness
The Clinic continues to vigorously clean. We also clean frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, counter tops, etc. multiple times per day. Clinic employees and patients MUST wear a mask at all times while in the Clinic. Patients may also wait in their car rather than the waiting room if they prefer.
Appointments are scheduled to allow for distancing, and you may wait in your car rather than in the waiting room if you prefer. Our Nutritionist, Therapist and Care Manager are still available for face-to-face visits as well as contact via Telehealth.
We offer telehealth visits for those patients that meet certain criteria and are comfortable in doing so. A few examples of those visits include:
– Follow up on chronic but stable conditions (no new problems)
– Refills on routine medication that do not require a physical exam or are a controlled substance.
– Follow up on labs or procedures
– Tobacco cessation
We will be expanding these visits. When you call to schedule, feel free to ask if a telehealth visit would be right for you.
Curbside pick up of prescription medicines remains available for those who prefer not to come into the Clinic building just to pick up medications.
