2023 Pharmacy Reminders
February 9, 2023
We hope the beginning of 2023 has been kind and all is well with you! There are some things to remind you regarding the pharmacy and some changes with our insurance to note.
-You should have received a new insurance card with a different ID number on it. Please bring this to the pharmacy/clinic when you need to pick up a prescription.
-The deductibles start over at the first of the year. Please don’t be surprised if your prescription copays are higher than they were in December. If needed, we can fill 30 days instead of 90 days to help with these higher copays until they become more manageable. Let us know if we can help you with this.
-Our insurance formulary has changed some this year. Please be patient with us as we work with your providers to make sure you are getting an appropriate therapy that is covered by the insurance.
-We are dealing with an unprecedented number of manufacturer back orders. We are doing everything we can to get the medications that you need. Please be patient with us.
-Did you know that the pharmacy offers mail order for most maintenance prescriptions? The guidelines are listed below:
- Must have an authorization form on file for each patient. If you don’t feel comfortable coming in to fill one of these out, you may call and give the information.
- You must live in Indiana.
- You must ask for mail order each time you request a prescription be filled. These requests must be received two weeks in advance to provide enough time to process the request.
- Mail order is only available for three month supplies of medication.
- No narcotics are eligible for mail order.
- No liquids will be mailed.
- There is a $3.00 mailing fee. (This cannot be on the flex card.)
- When the prescription is ready to be mailed, the front office will call for payment information.
-If mail order is not something you can do, but you don’t want to come into the building, the pharmacy is still offering curbside service for non-controlled medication pick up. Once you are parked outside the clinic, call the designated number (812.336.9250), and one of the pharmacy staff will meet you at the railing outside the exit door of the clinic with your prescription. After receiving your prescription, you can call the front office at 812.330.9944 to pay.
-The pharmacy is NOT connected to the portal that the rest of the clinic uses. The best way to request your prescription refills is to call the pharmacy (812.337.6162) and use the phone system to enter the prescription numbers or speak with one of the pharmacy staff.
-Most non-controlled maintenance medications are available for a 90-day (3 month) fill.
Please don’t hesitate to ask us at the pharmacy if you have any questions.
